EUME
Spa and Wellness furniture design
Eume is a stool born from the tourist study of Pamukkale, a city in the west of Turkey, known for its natural hot springs and Roman sites
Pamukkale ("cotton castle" in Turkish) is a natural area and wellness tourist destination in southwestern Turkey.
It is a group of rock formations called travertines. Limestone cliffs slowly created over 400,000 years by the bubbling of mineral springs.
The mountain falls in the form of petrified waterfalls, filling it with stalactites and pools of shimmering turquoise water.
These hot springs lie beneath the Hellenistic city of Hierapolis, founded by the Attalid kings of Pergamon in the late 2nd century BC before being taken over by the Romans in 133 AD.

Creating a sunset experience
the idea:
Small size stool for sunset moment
Inflatable / transparent material, PVC
Encapsulated sand in the lower area, adaptable to the support surface.
Outer surface formed by cylinders looking for to remember the Roman columns.
The challenge of this project was to create a product for a protected and delicate space.
The sunset of Pambunkkale is one of the main tourist attractions, however the space lacks facilities that allow users to enjoy the views and the environment at the most spectacular time of the day.
This stool solves the problems that the environment presented us with. Due to the protection of the terrain and its beautiful surface, the product had to be mobile, light and its base had to adapt to the surface without damaging it.

The combination of air, sand and PVC has allowed us to create a stool that meets all the points, adapting to the surface, mimicking the environment and making reference to the history of the place.
Made up of three pieces, the stool's geometry is inspired by Roman columns and the ruins that can be seen in the area.
The sand encapsulated in its lower part allows the stool to adapt to the surface of the baths without damaging them.
